For my third hackathon, we - a group of 5 digital product designers created 'Grow Buddy'. 'Grow Buddy' exists of 2 things: a buddy and a mobile platform.
The buddy part is actually a smart garden meter that is planted near a field of plants. This takes collects data about the plants like water usage, ph value, amount of sun...
During our 12-hour hackathon, we created a strong concept - design - prototype - website. A short day with big results, as we ended up on the second place!
Out of 35 people, at least 1 person struggles with anxiety. Which means that they struggle through accomplishing their daily life tasks.
For them I created, checking, a mindfulness application where people with anxiety get simple audio-based exercises to help them through their life.
Making food is an art. An art that feeds our creativity... and our belly. But what if you took the art even further? To the base of a meal, the recipe.
For this challenge, we needed to illustrate an entire recipe. Having a love for Asian cuisine, I quickly stumbled 'Thai mushroom salad'. Being inspired with older cookbooks, I chose to use the 'drawing style' for my illustrations.
Everybody learns. We all learn. From being a toddler doing baby steps to going to a course.
However, what if there is a moment you lose one of your hard earn skills? A skill you are unable to live without?
Speaking is something that feels natural. However, even speech can be lost after a car accident.
Losing the ability to distinguish sounds like 'tea' or 'tree' can be very frustrating.
For a hackathon, we - a group of 4 - created the concept of 'Allo', a mobile application which helps people speak once again. By displaying and letting the user perform exercises, feedback is given by letting them listen to their own sound. This way the user realizes their mistake. Thanks to an algorithm, matching words are given to exercise with.
During the intense event, I helped creating a concept, design and landing page.
